I have stayed at a number of Walt Disney World hotels, and after you have stayed at a number, a favourite has to emerge.
So, my favourite hotel at Walt Disney World is…
The Beach Club
There are a number of stand-out aspects at this hotel besides its easy access to EPCOT World Showcase.
- Beaches and Cream is easily the best ice-cream parlour at Disney WOrld, I may be a bit biased, and it’s certainly a bit out-of-the-way if you aren’t staying there, but the ice-cream there is delicious. I never have tried the Kitchen Sink though.
- The pool is great with its sandy floor and the middle part with the sand bank is great for kids.
- I don’t know if it still does, but it used to run movies on the beach and you could roast marshmallows and that was great.
It’s just a really nice hotel, to be honest.
Another few favourites – Animal Kingdom with Mara and the animals, nothing better than to sit and watch the animals in a slow hour or so.
Contemporary resort with Chef Mickey’s and the water sports available in Bay Lake are great too.
I would highly recommend all these hotels, though Pop Century and the Swan and Dolphin are both good hotels in their own right. The Dolphin is a wonderful hotel, it just lacks the extreme Disneyness found elsewhere.
